Highfive selfie trend2/19/2023 ![]() ![]() It’s not that big of a deal At the end of the day, the selfies are just a trend that will pass by and be revived in ten months time, so why bother exterminator so much energy into actively hating those who participate? If it truly bothers you so much to see people’s faces, then that’s a reflection of your own problems as opposed to them. If you haven't already stumbled across the thing during your latest bout of web sleuthing, it turns out people. Some people genuinely need a confidence boost, so what’s the problem with that? Just because it seems superficial to you doesn’t mean it always is. A new internet selfie trend, though, is potentially where we have to draw the line. It takes a certain strength to post yourself online, so showing respect rather than disdain is the bare minimum we can offer to those who take that step. The new High-five selfie is trending and were trying to understand. People want to feel confident in their own skin, and maybe a hurdle for them is to post their faces online and project themselves to the world. For the safety of your phone and your sanity, you might not want to try this at all. Just like with the bathroom selfie, the car selfie is strange because the background of a vehicle isn’t exactly the most glamorous, interesting backdrop. ![]() Another method of self expression are photographs, and especially selfies. Self expression People enjoy expressing themselves, whether it be through art, writing, memes, etc. I think the selfie trend is actually a nice thing for a multitude of reasons. This seems to be a common thing in MBTI subreddits where people complain about “hurr durr selfie bad,” especially in the INTJ and INTP subreddits. ![]()
